This year our special educator of the year has been described by her peers as: Selfless, a superhero, and innovative.

A parent stated:  “She has made my family’s introduction to a public education a positive experience”

When the committee observed our winner, we witnessed preschoolers actively engaging in meaningful learning opportunities differentiated to each student’s needs. 

Her district may want to be careful as Social Thinking! and Michelle Garcia Winner may want to offer her a job.  

Lastly, I quote from one of the letters within her nomination packet:

“It takes a certain level of teacher magic and love to create an environment that not only meets their needs but pushes them to thrive.”
